METHODOLOGY
We have put in place a process running from February to April to enable participation and jointly build the enabling pathways for the transition that the Conference will deliver.
The process leading to Santa Marta is organized into stakeholder group chapters, comprising written inputs, online dialogues by group, and in person stakeholder-led dialogues involving Peoples (including Indigenous Peoples, Afro-descendant Peoples, peasants, frontline collectives, youth, among others), NGOs, academia, subnational governments, countries, workers, parliamentarians, the private sector, and others in Santa Marta
Between February and April 2026, governments and other stakeholders will have the opportunity to engage and contribute to the technical and political discussions as follows:

February
Invitation to provide written inputs on enabling pathways for the transition, organized around the three (3) thematic pillars, through a virtual platform. Inputs will be limited in scope and length, with one question per thematic pillar. The focus will be on concrete proposals to deliver the implementation of the transition under each pillar, with a maximum of 400 words per question. A form will be sent to organizations with approved registration to submit their written inputs.

March
Virtual discussions will be held with each stakeholder group to further develop the ideas, based on an indicative summary of the submissions received per stakeholder group, and to inform the Conference discussions.

April
Stakeholder-led dialogues, followed by the Official High-Level Segment in Santa Marta, will discuss the enabling pathways and recommendations identified between January and April, and provide final inputs to the Conference report.
