If your questions are not answered, please feel free to contact us.

  • The Conference aims to be the first step in a process through which an international coalition of committed actors accelerates the transition away from fossil fuels, guided by the best available science, by identifying concrete pathways and solutions for implementing the transition, to be further advanced through a second conference.

  • The Conference aims to complement and provide inputs to other international processes, including the UNFCCC and the initiative of a global roadmap for the transition away from fossil fuels. In particular, it will aim to provide input on enabling pathways to overcome economic dependence, transform supply and demand, and address gaps in implementation, governance and cooperation.

  • Ministers, representatives from sub national governments, as well as other key stakeholders from all regions committed to implementing measures that reduce fossil fuel dependence and deliver a just transition away from fossil fuels.

  • Participation for organizations is possible at different stages of the process, subject to registration and, where applicable, selection:

    • Register the organization’s interest through the form on this website. Registration does not guarantee participation in all activities.

    • Written inputs will be invited from organizations whose registration is confirmed, through a virtual form organized around the three thematic pillars.

    • Virtual dialogues will be held ahead of the Conference organized by stakeholder group.

In-person participation in Santa Marta will take place through the stakeholder-led dialogues (24–27 April) and, subject to capacity constraints, the High-Level Segment (28–29 April), in a 1+1 format for organizations.

Accreditation for the High-Level Segment will be guided by regional and sectoral balance, as well as work on the implementation of the transition on the three thematic pillars of the conference. Organizations not participating in the High-Level Segment will still be able to contribute through other stages of the process.
